Notice to Mariners No. 63 of 2026 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – SPENCER GULF – LUCKY BAY – DREDGING OPERATIONS

Mariners are advised that dredging operations will commence in Lucky Bay from early September 2026 in an area bounded by the following coordinates:

  • 33° 42' 29" S, 137° 02' 11" E
  • 33° 42' 27" S, 137° 02' 13" E
  • 33° 42' 36" S, 137° 02' 25" E
  • 33° 42' 38" S, 137° 02' 23" E

Dredging operations are scheduled for up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and expected to be complete by the end of October 2025.

The discharge pipeline will rest on the seabed during normal operations; however, the pipeline may be floated to facilitate dredge movements. For which, a SÉCURITÉ warning will be issued on VHF channel 16.

The dredge will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 16 and 1.
