Notice to Mariners No. 74 of 2025 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – SPENCER GULF – WHYALLA - DREDGING OPERATIONS

Mariners are advised that dredging operations within the Whyalla marina primarily within the main entrance channel and the boat ramp approach have commenced

Dredging operations are scheduled for 7 days a week and be completed by end of December 2025.

The dredge will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 14 and 01.

The discharge pipeline trails up to 600m from the dredge which will normally rests on the seabed; however, it may be floated at certain times to facilitate dredge movements. In these times a SECURITE warning will be issued on VHF channel 16.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in this area.
